Congratulations to John Kasich for working so hard to become Ohio’s 69th governor. With the sun in Taurus and moon in Capricorn, “work” is our governor’s idea of fun. Taurus and Capricorn are both earth signs – hardworking, realistic, stubborn, practical, frugal, controlling, ambitious and serious. Moon in Capricorn is associated with great emotional reserve – think of the relative who doesn’t cry at the funeral and is able to make all the arrangements while those around him are breaking down with grief. That relative has a Capricorn moon.
Believe any promise he makes to cut or withhold funding, and that includes promises to friends and family too. Saturn in Libra squares his moon in Capricorn meaning compromise with others causes frustration rather than any sense of accomplishment or peace. For this strongly earthy man there are two ways to be: right or wrong. He’s trying to do things the “right” way so if you agree with him you are right too.
Every now and again an unexpected emotional moment breaks through Kasich’s Capricorn moon armor as Uranus is opposite the moon in his chart. Inauguration Day, January 11, 2011, may very well be one of those moments with the sun passing through Capricorn triggering this emotional opposition.
Problems with the ladies happen often in January. We’ll see how the female lieutenant governor, Mary Taylor, fares under her strong-willed, conservative boss who may have old-fashioned ideas about the roles of men and women. Luckily, Taylor has a moon in Cancer, opposite her boss’ Capricorn moon. Taylor will most likely fill the role of emotional antenna for her boss. Helping her boss understand the emotional undercurrents of the world around him may also be part of her job duties. Mary is the mother, John is the father. She knows when he’s hungry, even when he does not.
Kasich’s natal Pluto square moon adds even more stubbornness to an already fixed personality. Advice for the un-initiated – do not try to change this man’s mind. Instead appeal to his sense of fairness, most specifically material fairness. Material satisfaction is what he understands, not emotional needs or group identity. Because of this materialism, people and companies that create tangible, physical items will get the most attention – manufacturing, natural resources, construction, textiles, etc. Bring this man something to touch and he will understand your cause much better. Ideas must have concrete physical manifestation to be acknowledged.
Pluto, the planet of transformation, has just entered Capricorn. Kasich, with moon in Capricorn, will be feeling the deep transformation of his emotional reserve beginning in 2011 and culminating in 2013. Kasich’s most difficult challenge as governor will be having to admit areas of failure publicly. Failures in relationships hurt the most and during this 2011-2013 there will be changes in relationships, specifically with women.
I expect John Kasich to fulfill all of his campaign promises – his literal personality demands that he do that.
