Ohio Astrology Q&A – September 2025

As it’s been a long while since Ohio Astrology (OHA) has gone through the stacks of mail and sorted through the questions, it’s time for some Q&A (questions and answers).

Q: If Pluto in Aquarius is this golden “Age of Aquarius,” why’s everybody killin’ each other?

A: Great question! All astrology is polarity and the opposite of Aquarius is Leo. This is the polarity of self-expression (Leo, fire) versus group expression (Aquarius, air). When you fall in love or paint picture or perform on stage that is Leo. When you go to a rock concert and wear a T-shirt, dress up for the “SomethingCon” or join a club/organization/cult, that is Aquarius.

When Pluto was in Leo in the 1950s and 1960s, folks sat together in parks dropping acid to share the experience of love and heightened awareness. They also dressed the same and grew their hair long. A bit of Leo, a bit of Aquarius.

Today with Pluto in Aquarius, we communicate with the ends of the world on our special interests from the isolation of home, office, or basement. We’re more connected but separate. We’re alienated together. A bit of Leo, a bit of Aquarius.

Polarity means that self and group expression is a continuum of experience which we all (hopefully) do in different measure at different times. There’s Leo in Aquarius and Aquarius in Leo.

Aquarius is an air sign so lives in the mental plane where group expression is planned and orderly with a goal of perfection (utopia). Leo is a fire sign that lives in the possibility of more life with the goal of admiration (romance).

In the Aquarian effort to perfect society, the bit of Leo may confuse personal expression with the needs of the whole. Both air and fire signs get caught up in the trends of the times so need earth energy to balance what is practical.

Q: Why do folks worship the past like it was perfect? I mean, yeah, in the 1800s Thomas Jefferson was doing all kinds of interesting things, but there was slavery, and people were dying of tooth decay and smallpox while struggling for survival.

A: Fascinating question for sociologists and psychologists! As they are not present, we’ll blame Neptune. As we get older, Saturn time limits become more pressing – we are going to die, and friends and family may already be doing so. All the while, young people are prancing about with boat loads of energy defining self through personal appearance and style which seems shallow and irrelevant. With more young people wearing T-shirts of people you’ve never heard of and fewer contemporaries to relate to, the mind often goes into the past when someone else worried about the electric bill and how to buy groceries in times of inflation.

Neptune glamorizes and idealizes and gives us the sense of life being more than the day-to-day humdrum. Today in Aries (just transitioned in March but bouncing between late Pisces and early Aries) there is a glamorization and glorification of self which for Aries includes war and battle. Survivors of war often feel connected for the rest of their lives to their comrades. The intensity creates an intimacy.

When you get older, you may miss something from today you barely consider in daily life such as a walk in the park or some activity that later has vanished, like reading a book or paying with a credit card.

Q: If the 40th US president Ronald Reagan were alive today, what would he think of US politics?

A: Funny you should ask. The other day my cat said he had a dream about Ronald Reagan. I asked what happened in the dream. Reagan, said my cat, wished he were still alive for this “Age of Aquarius” as he had Aquarius sun. Reagan said he wished he could rise from the dead and take over. He thinks he would be worshipped as a god which my cat, in the dream, agreed with.

Then he said, according to the cat, that if we really want an autocracy, it can at least be done nicely and quietly, like with surreptitious back-room negotiations instead of out in the open like bad community theater. Taurus moon Reagan went on to say that speaking nicely in an even tone is simply what gentlemen do or at least did in the 20th century.

Reagan did add, said the cat, that leaders should all look nice with natural colored skin tone and realistic hair. Dress for the presidential job you want, Reagan said in the dream, not the one you have.

Q: Why is everyone driving crazy with one taillight and putting on their left signals when they are turning right and generally driving recklessly?

A: This is the traditional, “Why has the world gone mad?” question. The answer is simple and again we’ll blame Neptune. Neptune has been in Pisces since 2011 and has dissolved our shared reality as Neptune “rules” Pisces which is other-worldly and imaginative by nature, and sometimes escapist through excessive media/entertainment, drugs or alcohol.

The drivers you speak of may have spiritually transported themselves to the Indy 500 raceway and believe they are winning some very important race. Others may feel that all material controls in the car are the works of evil entities and choose to drive by intuition. Others may be writing an opera in their minds and deciding if the oboes are needed in act three.

Before going into Pisces, Neptune – and Uranus – was in Aquarius giving us a preview of today’s Pluto in Aquarius. These two outer planets in their travels connected us to a constant stream of billions of bits of incoming data which assails us from waking until dropping off into overstimulated sleep. Chances are the drivers you refer to are being asked about their favorite ice cream, are responding to an invite, are taking surveys from the last three office visits, and addressing a work fire drill all at the same time while rushing to an appointment in which they are late.

If you missed the answer because you received 50 texts while reading, just pop back to the top where it says “Q:”
