Ron Paul – The Practical Extrovert

Ron Paul, Republican presidential contender, has an interesting horoscope. He’s made of entirely earth and water with the exception of a Leo sun. I don’t know his rising sign because I don’t have time of birth.

The mental image that arises from this chart is a man who would spend all day in the library researching some topic, say how to build your own house (with your own hands) in 30 days avoiding a 30-year mortgage. He’d read and read and read only so that he could go to a Toastmasters meeting that night and present his findings in front of a crowd.

Now I get a sense of what Paul is doing by running for president – he’s simply trying to get you to understand something that he figured out and wants to share. He’s done the work so you don’t have to.

If Paul didn’t have that Leo sun, he’d probably still be in the library, reading and reading. When not at the library, he’d probably be busy in the basement with one of his pet projects, such as developing a new vitamin.

The emphasis is on building and practical application of ideas because that is what earth does. Paul’s Uranus-moon are in Taurus and Mercury-Neptune-Venus are in Virgo. Taurus likes to build, grow and accumulate. Virgo likes to organize, categorize and make perfect.

The remaining planets in Paul’s chart are in water (Pluto in Cancer, Mars-Jupiter in Scorpio, Saturn in Pisces). That means Paul is able to understand and relate to the feelings of others. With Mars in Scorpio, he might even respond emotionally to perceived slights and make some attempt to get back at you.

That lone Leo sun is probably saying, right now, “Hey, pay attention to me.” It’s a lone wolf in the chart yet Leo is the opposite of lone wolf. Leo is about attention.

Leo sun squares the Taurus moon. Leo says, “Do whatever you need to get attention” while Taurus responds, “Let’s not. Life is more peaceful if you don’t rock the boat.” Then the Mars in Scorpio, shouts out, “Get under their skin.”

Leo, Taurus and Scorpio are fixed signs which are strong, determined and forceful. Fixed signs find their ways into leadership from the presidency, to religious leaders to cult leaders. An abundance of fixed signs means an abundance of stubbornness. Stubbornness, fortunately or unfortunately, is needed for leadership.

Saturn in Pisces indicates Paul doesn’t feel entirely connected to his time and place. This image, again, of a dedicated man who helps you by sharing what he knows, comes to mind. He probably shares and then doesn’t understand why you don’t listen or care.

You don’t listen to or care about what Paul is saying because you have to experience life for yourself. Paul can be the nurturing/overly protective parent type that thinks you can learn from others’ mistakes. The Mercury/Neptune/Venus combination in Virgo adds to the sense that he’s discovered the ideal way and he’s saving you the trouble of doing something in a haphazard way. He’s finished the crossword puzzle; there’s no need for you to do it as well.

Wanting you to do things his way stems from a practical nature, not ideological one. There is no air in the chart. Paul is not interested in ideas for ideas sake or for pure mental gymnastics.

In other words, Paul has to learn to understand that others don’t understand. He’s Leo enough to keep on trucking even though the water in his charts suggests he sometimes feels sadness and/or depression because he can’t get through to others.

Paul is close to a Neptune opposition. He’s going to get some lessons in how the public is swayed by emotion. It will sadden him.

We often say of people that they “mean well.” That phrase keeps arising as I look at this chart. Paul simply wants to share what he knows. And maybe get a little Leo love for doing so.

1 Response to Ron Paul – The Practical Extrovert

  1. Mike Wirth says:

I think ‘practical extrovert’ is fitting since Ron Paul has expressed his Leonian nature by way of three appearances on Jay Leno, twice on Bill Maher. and once each on Colbert, Jon Stewart, and the View– wherein each time he is witty and natural and gives practical information on his views ie economics, a limited Constitutional government, civil rights and personal liberties, etc.– very understandable and attractive to the younger generation and independent-minded folk.

The expression ‘Ron Paul Revolution’ seems to resonate with both his campaign charts — the presidential announcement events in 2007 and 2011 — and is fitting for what is happening during the upcoming Uranus-Pluto squares of which an unprecedented seven exact hits from June 2012 to March 2015 will occur. (most recently circa 1166 BC — three hits and circa 1421 BC — five hits)

In Ron Paul’s natal there is also progressed Sun close to exact conjunction of natal Mars by the time of the Republican Convention through to Election Day. Maybe he’ll pull another Lincoln and win a brokered convention on his way to winning it all as the Uranus-Pluto effect shakes and awakens the national and global consciousness.

If you are also a student of the precessional nature of Zodiac ages you know that we are also in the time of a boundary/quantum transition which some see as this year.

So this may be construed as a ‘perfect storm’ or probability vortex of archetypal events reflecting revolution on a global scale as seen by what’s been happening since the Pluto-Capricorn ingress.
