The Sign Most Likely to Hold a Grudge is . . .

First, what’s a grudge?

Sometimes in your life you decide to disassociate from other people. You don’t want them in your life for one reason or another. That is not the “grudge” I’m referring to.

Dictionary.com defines grudge as “a feeling of ill will or resentment.” Holding a grudge where you don’t acknowledge someone because you want to punish them is the type of grudge I’m referring to in this blog.

This type of grudge involves two aspects: punishment and denial. When you punish someone, you are making yourself into an authority in relation to that person. When you remove that person from your life as punishment, you also deny yourself any joy or pleasure you would have from their presence.

Therefore, a grudge involves a desire to punish and the ability to deny oneself pleasure.

What sign does that the best?

Capricorn.

Capricorn seems to be the sign that carries the most resentment. Resentment involves not just sensitivity, but a judgmental nature.

Capricorn loves authority and is known for its ambition. Whatever the lot in life, Capricorn sees itself at the top of the ladder, whether the ladder is in a corporation, restaurant, store or hot dog stand.

By punishing others through denying company and conversation (i.e., “the cold shoulder”), Capricorn willingly creates self-imposed isolation. Isolation can lead to loneliness which leads to more resentment.

That’s not to say that all Capricorns do this. It’s simply saying that those who harbor grudges as a form of punishment may be influenced by this complex and judgmental sign.

There is another sign that I place second in line for holding a grudge – Scorpio. Scorpio is extremely sensitive and it is easy to offend this sign. Scorpio gone bad is known to “bite its own tail,” meaning there is self-destructiveness.

Scorpio also seeks revenge for perceived slights. If a Scorpio is holding a grudge, they may also be plotting and planning.

Capricorn Grudge vs Scorpio Grudge

The Capricorn grudge is both punishment and self-denial. The Scorpio grudge involves hurt feelings and a desire for revenge.

Both signs can deny themselves pleasures for a long-term goal.

Maybe it was a Capricorn or Scorpio who invented Lent. How many people go through the entire period without sneaking a bit of the self-imposed denied object?

Hell hath no fury like the scorn of of a scorpio spurned. If you don’t remember where you put your car keys last, ask your closest capricorn companion, in fact if you can’t remember anything of importance ask your closest capricorn compnanion. Great post as always OHA!

Beware of the Ides of March!

Damn if that don’t describe an ex-associate mascarading as a friend. She calls herself punishing me by ending our dealings and fact is she’s both denying herself the joy and pleasure of my companionship ergo self-punishment inflicted by her on her! That b#tch is too selfish. Pessimism & misery has replaced her blood and runs thru her body heavily. GOD speed to her anyway!

Know a Capricorn venus and this explains her actions today. She’s a sun sag & gemini moon so I was puzzled by this from her. Holding a grudge like tar holds heat! Thank you for posting this. I’ve ended my search for what’s going on.

Tisk Tisk to funny I just knew it was Capricorn lol . I ticked off a fellow Male Cap and we haven’t spoke for a year now. But, he wasn’t just any Cap we were born on the exact same day and year. I miss him as a friend and I apologized for my offense. And, all is well and forgiven. However, I understand for Caps when it’s over it’s over

Well, look at Janet Hubert (the actress who played Aunt Viv). She’s a capricorn and she’s still holding on to what happened during the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

  6. VENUS SCORP GIRL says:

Libra. Often we have Venus in Scorpio, which is the most vengeful planet placement. We have this placement more often than the born Scorpio herself.

I have Venus and Scorpio PLUS Mars Pluto conjunct in the 12th house. Suffice it to say, if anybody f’s with me I WILL DESTROY THEM. I’ve waited 11, 15, and even 30 years to strike back once slighted. We never forgive, we never forget, we will get you. Period. Case closed.

Our life goal becomes your humiliation then your complete annihilation. I have no problem with this and will sleep like a baby on your soft warm ashes.

And I am a Sun Libra. So tread lightly. I’ll rip a SCORPIO’S tongue out and feed it to them. Not scared of anyone, and most especially some soft half-Sag Scorpio. I consider it an honor to defeat a Scorp. BRING IT AND WE SHALL JUST SEE WHO OUTSTINGS THE OTHER TO DEATH.

IN A WORD DON’T CROSS ME

Capricorns can be very pessimistic. They often hold grudges for a long time because they don’t want to be rejected and humiliated again. In other words, Capricorns would rather isolate themselves than confront the person they are having issues with.

  8. Hilary says:

This is sooooo true. I am a Capricorn struggling with this. I know it’s wrong to hold a grudge and I’m aware that I’m punishing myself and others in the process, but I don’t know how to get past the grudge.
